"Riding at Mugello is always a pleasure. On top of everything else, the conditions today were perfect, so in addition to the good work we carried out—because I did 80 laps—I enjoyed my time riding. Compliments to the circuit for the new additions; the main grandstand is really nice, and of course I hope to see Mugello filled with fans for the race.” Ducati’s Mugello test ended with a beautiful, sunny day and ideal conditions. Today was Valentino Rossi’s turn back on the Ducati GP12, as he completed his third day of testing with the bike by turning 80 laps between 11:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., when the Tuscan circuit closed. Franco Battaini completed a series of tests with both the GP11 and the G12, while Vittoriano Guareschi followed Valentino’s progress from the box, along with Filippo Preziosi. “It was another positive test,” said Rossi. “We had a number of things to try, including a new step with the frame that I liked. The general feeling was good. I was already happy with the engine the first time I tried it, and now we’re also making progress with the rest of the bike. Naturally, we’ll have to see when the others try their 2012 bikes, but as far as we’re concerned, for the moment we’re satisfied; our bike is already good. “For this test we brought an updated frame for Valentino to try,” echoed Filippo Preziosi, “along with several other interesting things, and I’m pleased to report that we received positive feedback. The lap times were better than at the last test, which is additional confirmation that we’re working in the right direction. A big thank-you to Valentino and Nicky, to all the guys on the Team, and Ducati, where they’re extremely committed and are working really hard.”

Questa mattina Valentino Rossi e' sceso in pista per proseguire lo sviluppo della Ducati Desmosedici GP12, con motore 1000 di cilindrata, che verra' utilizzata nella prossima stagione. Sul tracciato di casa, ieri per la scuderia di Borgo Panigale ha girato il compagno di squadra del Dottore, Nicky Hayden compiendo 83 giri, mentre oggi, dalle 11, Valentino ha continuato il lavoro sul set up e su alcune novita' che sono state introdotte sulla GP12. Rossi ha percorso una ventina di giri, contento dei progressi fin qui ottenuti.

"Il nuovo asfalto del Mugello è senz’altro un bel progresso, soprattutto in alcuni punti, come le due Arrabbiate, che adesso sono davvero molto divertentii". Così Nicky Haden, pilota Ducati, oggi impegnato in test al Mugello. Il lavoro del Reparto Corse Ducati , infatti, prosegue senza sosta. Nonostante il periodo intenso di gare, i due piloti del Ducati Marlboro Team questa settimana sono impegnati in una sessione di prove al Mugello per continuare lo sviluppo della GP12 mentre, contestualmente, prosegue il lavoro del Test Team sulla GP11 con Franco Battaini. Vittoriano Guareschi, che lunedì ha girato insieme a Battaini,  oggi ha rivestito nuovamente i panni di Team Manager per seguire il lavoro di Nicky Hayden e del suo team al Mugello, insieme al Direttore Tecnico Filippo Preziosi. Domani, ultimo dei tre giorni di test, scenderà in pista Valentino Rossi. Hayden, al termine di un’intensa giornata di lavoro, ha completato 83 giri di pista. “E’ stata una giornata positiva” ha commentato il pilota americano al termine del test, “anche se questa mattina le condizioni meteo non erano eccezionali per la pioggia caduta durante la notte. Abbiamo quindi cominciato a girare un po’ tardi,  lavorando sul set up e su alcune novità che hanno introdotto sulla GP12, ma solo dopo la pausa pranzo ho cominciato ad avere più feeling, mano a mano che anche le condizioni della pista, col sole, miglioravano. Sono soddisfatto dei passi in avanti che ha fatto la moto rispetto alla prima volta che l’ho provata, a Jerez. Grazie a Filippo (Preziosi) che mi ha dato l’opportunità di guidarla di nuovo”.

L’australiano Stoner vince anche a Silverstone e con la defaillance di Lorenzo – caduto -  balza in testa al mondiale della MotoGp. In Inghilterra Stoner  ha vinto la gara n.27 in carriera (come il suo numero di gara), ma adesso ha un vantaggio di 18 punti sul campione del mondo in carica. ''Non e' stata una gara facile - ha detto Stoner al termine - in partenza ho dovuto lottare con Andrea che era molto a suo agio con il bagnato e con le gomme fredde, poi sono riuscito a far entrare anche io i pneumatici in temperature e ho cercato di andare in testa. Sin dai primi metri della gara, non vedevo nulla, la visiera del casco era completamente appannata, non e' che vedessi dove l'asfalto era piu' o meno bagnato. Poi quando sono andato davanti la situazione e' migliorata e ho potuto prendere i miei rifermenti per guidare bene''. Il secondo pilota sul gradino del podio e' Dovizioso, in sella anche lui ad una Honda, come Stoner, segno che le moto con l'ala sul serbatoio sono ancora quelle da battere. A dire la verita', se Simoncelli non fosse rimasto vittima dell'asfalto viscido, le Honda sul podio sarebbero state tre. Sfortuna in casa Yamaha, con i due piloti ufficiali a terra, vittime anche loro dell'acqua inglese, mentre si ritrova sul podio l'americano Colin Edwards con la Yamaha privata del team Tech3. Il texano, che era caduto in prova durante il Gp della Catalogna, riportando la frattura della clavicola sinistra, si era fatto operare in Spagna per essere presente a Silverstone. Alla fine la costanza di Edwards ha premiato l'azzardo. Il sesto posto di Rossi, come il terzo posto di Edwards e' qualcosa di inaspettato. Dopo aver patito per tutte le prove, al via Valentino certo avrebbe messo la firma su un risultato come quello di Silverstone, che e' poi in linea con quelli fatti sino a questo momento della stagione. ''Il sesto posto - ha detto Rossi - e' un risultato molto positivo e adesso siamo anche quarti in campionato e stiamo limitando i danni. Su questa pista sapevo di che avrei fatto fatica, spero che da Assen in poi si ritorni al feeling di Barcellona''.

30 riders moved thier bike from the road to the circuit thanks the lessons of Promo School. A simply but sure acitvity, the right answer at the need to run in safety. Promo School is one of the acitivities carried on into the circuit. In the Mugellino we're hosting a race of minibike and minigp, while on track the day is fully booked fron Promo Racing and a free practice day.
120 cyclists, in the morning, made one lap of the circuit like start of a national meeting of amateurs.
