“Mugello!” — the riders responded without hesitation last weekend in Brno, putting the Tuscan track in pole position among the most iconic venues of the World Championship.

A technical and "old school" circuit, Mugello earns unanimous praise from both riders and fans — who can now celebrate the return of the MotoGP Italian Grand Prix to Mugello next May 29–31.

“The official MotoGP calendar for the 2026 season has just been released, and we are pleased to announce that the Italian Grand Prix is scheduled at Mugello for the weekend of May 29–31, the fourth European round after Jerez, Le Mans, and Barcelona,” said Paolo Poli, CEO and Managing Director of the Mugello Circuit.
“The MotoGP at Mugello thus returns to its traditional date, and fans will once again be able to enjoy a long festive weekend, with the chance to camp inside the circuit park from Thursday, May 28 to Tuesday, June 2 — with no extra cost or entry limitations. It's the perfect opportunity to enjoy the races while also exploring the Tuscan hills or visiting Florence, just 35 kilometers away.”

The organizational machine is already at work to prepare a major event full of passion and emotion, right in the heart of Tuscany.

The 2025 edition saw a record-breaking 156,000+ spectators and over 2,000 campers, confirming a strong and growing trend: fans love the unique experience that only Mugello can offer — with camping directly inside the track’s dedicated park area.

Fifth ACI Racing Weekend Ends with GT Sprint Wins and Powell’s F4 Dominance

Scarperia (FI) – July 13, 2025 – The mid-season round of the ACI Racing Weekend lived up to expectations with thrilling races on the rolling layout of the Mugello Circuit. In the Italian GT Sprint Championship, GT3 victories went to Klingmann-Krohn and Liberati-Frassineti, while in the GT Cup class wins were claimed by D’Auria and the Matteo and Giacomo Pollini duo.

Kean Nakamura Berta took the win in Race 1, while Alex Powell dominated both Race 2 and Race 3 of the Italian F4 Championship, making a strong comeback in the standings. In the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship, Luca Verdi and Andrea Frizza each scored a win.

Drama continued after the checkered flag in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, with victories awarded to Klein and Braschi following penalties for Masters and Iaquinta in two spectacular races. The next ACI Racing Weekend is scheduled for August 1–3 at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola.

There were four hard-fought races in the second round of the Italian GT Sprint Championship. In GT3, Klingmann-Krohn won Race 1 ahead of teammates Alatalo-Caglioni and Colavita-Badawi, while Frassineti-Liberati stood on the top step of the podium in Race 2, followed by Jelmini-Di Amato and Klingmann-Krohn. In GT Cup, Ferdinando D’Auria led the way in his class, ahead of Girolami-Arduini and Fontana-Mainetti, while the Pollini-Pollini duo triumphed in the second race over Viglietti-Ianniello and once again Fontana-Mainetti.

In the 2nd Division, wins went to Flavio Olivieri and Fontana-Knez (PRO-AM), with a double victory for Giacon-Contessi in the AM category—all behind the wheel of Porsche 992 GT3 Cups.

It was a weekend to remember for Alex Powell at Mugello. The Mercedes junior driver from R-ace GP made his mark in the fourth round of the Italian F4 Championship, finishing third in Race 1 and winning both Race 2 and Race 3 from pole position. The opening race was won by Kean Nakamura-Berta, current championship leader with Prema Racing, ahead of Gabriel Gomez (US Racing). In Race 2, Powell edged out Newman Chi (Prema Racing) and Reno Francot, the Dutch driver from PHM Racing, who returned to the series after competing last season. Francot followed up with another second place in Race 3, ahead of Nakamura-Berta, who retained the championship lead with 213 points. Behind him are Sebastian Wheldon (Prema Racing) and Gomez, both tied at 154 points.

The Italian F4 series will return at the ACI Racing Weekend in Imola, but the Tatuus cars will already be back on track next weekend, July 18–20, at Paul Ricard Circuit in Le Castellet for the opening round of the 2025 E4 Championship.

Luca Verdi (Emotion Motorsport) and Andrea Frizza (V-Action) each celebrated their first-ever overall wins in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship, held at the Mugello Circuit for the fourth round of the season. A difficult weekend for Matteo Bianco—retired in Race 1 and only sixth in Race 2—opened the door to his rivals. Defending champion Davide Uboldi now leads the standings, finishing sixth and third across the two races and holding a 36-point advantage. Alberto Fulgori also shined with a third and second place finish, while Frizza added a second place in Race 1 to his victory.

In the two races of the third round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, Frenchman Marvin Klein (BeDriver) took the first win ahead of teammate Lirim Zendeli and reigning champion Keagan Masters. In Race 2, after a penalty demoted Simone Iaquinta, who had crossed the line first, Francesco Braschi (Ombra Racing) was awarded the win ahead of Iaquinta and Alexander Tauscher from Germany.

Another head-to-head between Sandro Zeller and Benjamin Berta unfolded in the Topjet Formula 2000, delivering two thrilling races at Mugello. Strong performances also came from Benalli, Stentella, and Stig Larsen, who contributed to the weekend’s exciting on-track action.

Mai così tanti iscritti in una gara del Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo, il round toscano del Campionato Italiano ACI  in programma in questo fine settimana segna un traguardo senza precedenti per la serie Sprint.

A rendere l’evento veramente speciale è il dato sulle partecipazioni, con ben 59 equipaggi iscritti nelle classi GT3 e GT Cup, un numero mai raggiunto prima nella storia del GT italiano, a conferma della crescita costante e del successo della serie promossa da ACI Sport. Dopo le prime due gare di Vallelunga, le classifiche iniziano a delinearsi e al Mugello saranno presenti tutti i protagonisti del round inaugurale, pronti a proseguire la corsa al titolo in un fine settimana che si annuncia ancora più acceso.

GT3

Nella classe GT3, i riflettori sono puntati su Andrea Frassineti ed Edoardo Liberati (Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo2 – VSR), attuali leader della classifica assoluta  grazie ai due ottimi secondi posti conquistati a Vallelunga che hanno fruttato un prezioso bottino di punti. Alle loro spalle, con un distacco di sei lunghezze, inseguono Klingmann-Krohn (BMW M4 GT3 – BMW Italia/Ceccato Racing), decisi a sfruttare al massimo il weekend toscano per puntare al vertice coadiuvati dai compagni di squadra Alatalo-Caglioni.

Il team VSR, oltre ai leader del campionato, schiera altri due equipaggi, Deledda-Nemoto (PRO) e Zanon-Michelotto (PRO-AM), entrambi desiderosi di rilanciare le proprie ambizioni dopo un debutto a Vallelunga con alti e bassi. A rafforzare la presenza della casa di Sant’Agata Bolognese ci saranno anche le due vetture di Imperiale Racing, con Denes-Bowen impegnati nella PRO e Tarabini-Lau nella PRO-AM, pronti a inserirsi nella lotta per le posizioni che contano.

Sempre in PRO-AM, spiccano Ferrari-Raghunathan (Ferrari 296 GT3 – AF Corse), attualmente al comando della classifica di classe, ma anche secondi a pari punti con Klingmann–Krohn nella classifica assoluta, un risultato che conferma l’eccellente avvio di stagione da parte dell’equipaggio della squadra piacentina. La loro vittoria in Gara-2 a Vallelunga li ha proiettati ai vertici del campionato, e anche al Mugello saranno tra i principali osservati speciali.

Proprio la casa di Maranello sarà ben rappresentata in GT3, con altri tre equipaggi iscritti. Oltre al duo Ferrari-Raghunathan, AF Corse schiera anche Colavita-Badawi, anch’essi in PRO-AM e in crescita costante, e lo statunitense  Ziad Ghandour, che correrà da solo. Nella stessa sottoclasse saranno della partita Marazzi-Buttarelli (Ferrari 296 GT3 – Rossocorsa), mentre Venerosi-Baccani (Porsche 911 GT3 R–Ebimotors) e il cinese Han Huilin (Ferrari 296 GT3– Target Racing), anche lui al via in solitaria, competeranno nella AM. Non mancherà la consueta pattuglia Audi, con tre vetture R8 LMS affidate a Bracalente-Lopez  (Audi Sport Italia) in PRO-AM, Mazzola-Rauer (Tresor Attempto Racing) in PRO, e  i compagni di squadra Clementi Pisani-Cassarà, attualmente al vertice della classifica AM.

Completano lo schieramento GT3 le  Mercedes AMG GT3  e le Honda NSX GT3. Sulle stelle d'argento gestite da AKM Motorsport ci saranno lo statunitense Aaron Farhadi, schierato in solitario nella AM, e l’equipaggio PRO-AM composto da Florian Scholze e Matteo Cairoli. Il pilota comasco, da quest’anno pilota Mercedes AMG, sarà al via per la sola tappa del Mugello, rappresentando una novità di grande rilievo per il campionato grazie al suo talento e all’esperienza maturata nelle più prestigiose competizioni GT a livello internazionale, tra cui la Porsche Carrera Cup Italia e la 24 Ore del Nurburgring, vinte, rispettivamente, nel 2014  e 2021. Con i colori Nova Race, infine, scenderanno in pista al volante delle GT giapponesi  Jelmini-Di Amato (PRO) e Magnoni-Rocca (AM).

GT CUP

1^ DIVISIONE: Nella 1^Divisione PRO-AM, l’equipaggio da battere saràò quello composto da Andrea Fontana e Alessandro Mainetti (Lamborghini Huracan ST EVO 2 – Target Racing), attualmente al vertice della classifica. Alle loro spalle, tra gli avversari più accreditati per la rincorsa alla leadership, figurano Ferdinando D’Auria (Lamborghini Huracan ST EVO 2 – HC Racing Division), iscritto come pilota singolo, e la coppia Viglietti-Ianniello (Lamborghini Huracan ST EVO 2–DL Racing), anch’essa attesa tra i protagonisti dopo un ottimo avvio di stagione a Vallelunga.

Completano la rappresentanza Lamborghini nella PRO-AM gli equipaggi Giacomo e Matteo Pollini (Giacomo Race), Arduini-Girolami (MM Motorsport), Fishbaum-Pavlovic (ASR), e D’Auria-Forenzi (Invictus Corse), tutti pronti a inserirsi nel duello per le posizioni di vertice. Con le Ferrari 296 Challenge si schiereranno sul tracciato toscano  Schirò-Riva (Rossocorsa), Dylan Medler (Pellin Racing), Pegoraro-Croccolino (Best Lap), Dabboussi-Mancinelli (AF Corse), Gai-Fontana (AF Corse), e Gilles Renmans (Dav Racing), per un confronto ad alta intensità che si preannuncia equilibrato e combattuto.

Tra gli equipaggi iscritti nella classe AM, il riferimento è rappresentato da Piergiacomo Randazzo e Gaetano Oliva (Lamborghini Huracan ST EVO 2 – HC Racing Division), leader della classifica grazie ad un primo ed un secondo posto nella prova inaugurale. A insidiare la vetta ci penserà Pierluigi Alessandri (Ferrari 296 Challenge – DL Racing), staccato di sole tre lunghezze e reduce dal successo ottenuto in Gara-2 a Vallelunga. Sempre con le Ferrari 296 Challenge, ci saranno lo statunitense Mitchell Green (Pellin Racing), Ivan Mari (Best Lap), Marzialetti-Nicoli (MRNC12) e il brasiliano Rafael Duran (AF Corse), mentre a rappresentare i colori Lamborghini scenderanno in pista Lazzaroni-Lancellotti (Invictus Corse), Tucci-Castellarin e  Carminati-Pellegrini (CRM Motorsport), oltre a Locanto e Tagliapietra (DL Racing), tutti su Huracan ST EVO 2.

2^ DIVISIONE: Nella classe PRO-AM saranno tre gli equipaggi al via, tutti al volante della Porsche 992 GT3 Cup. Il team Raptor Engineering schiererà in solitaria Flavio Olivieri, leader della classifica provvisoria a pari punti con la coppia Matteo Martinelli e Diego Stifter (Racevent), mentre si presenteranno al Mugello in terza piazza Fontana-Knez (Centri Porsche Ticino), determinati a inserirsi nella lotta per le posizioni di vertice.

Tra gli equipaggi attesi nella classe AM, sarà presente al Mugello l’irlandese Lyle Schofield (Ferrari 488 Challenge – SR&R), leader della classifica con 35 punti, grazie a un secondo posto e una vittoria ottenuti a Vallelunga. A difendere i colori Ferrari ci saranno anche Gallo-Foglia (Best Lap), Marchetti-Massaro (Scuderia Emme), Briselli-Bernazzani (Pinetti Motorsport) e Pierantoni-Paniccià (MRNC12).

Anche per i colori Porsche ci sarà una griglia molto competitiva con Giacon-Contessi (ZRS Motorsport) che inseguono a 12 punti il leader del campionato e si candidano tra i principali contendenti al successo. In pista anche il compagno di squadra Pierluigi Moscone, che corre da solo, oltre a Massimo Abbati (SP Racing Team), anche lui in solitaria, Stefanin-Laurini (Racevent), Montagnese-Buganè (PS Performance), Naldi-Cianfoni (Raptor Engineering) e il binomio Di Leo-“Poppy”  (Mega Motorsport), tutti su Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.

Completano lo schieramento della AM Gianluca e Carlo Giraudi, padre e figlio, che porteranno in pista la Mercedes AMG GTN (AKM Motorsport), già presenti a Vallelunga come “guest”.

PROGRAMMA E TV

Il weekend del Mugello si articolerà su tre intense giornate. Si aprirà venerdì con le sessioni di prove libere, con due turni per ciascuna classe: la GT3 sarà impegnata dalle 10.15 alle 11.00 e ancora dalle 13.45 alle 14.30, mentre la GT Cup scenderà in pista dalle 11.05 alle 11.50 e successivamente dalle 14.35 alle 15.20.

Sabato sarà la giornata riservata alle prove ufficiali, che definiranno la griglia di partenza delle due gare: la GT3 disputerà i due turni di qualifica alle 8.30 e alle 8.45, mentre la GT Cup seguirà alle 9.20 e alle 9.35. Le prime gare del weekend di 50 minuti + 1 giro si svolgeranno nel pomeriggio: la GT3  scatterà alle ore 12.50, seguita dalla gara GT Cup alle 15.00.

Domenica il programma proseguirà con gara-2 per entrambe le classi: la GT3 sarà in pista alle 11.40, mentre la GT Cup chiuderà il weekend con semaforo verde previsto alle 14.40.

Tutte  le gare saranno trasmesse in diretta televisiva su ACI Sport TV (SKY 228), mentre Rai Sport ha previsto una sintesi di entrambe le gare della classe GT3, con giorni e orari ancora da definire. A completare la copertura, lo streaming integrale sarà disponibile su tutte le piattaforme social del campionato e sul sito ufficiale www.acisport.it, offrendo così agli appassionati la possibilità di seguire da casa ogni istante del weekend toscano.

HVM Racing e l’Autodromo del Mugello, con la collaborazione della Ferrari, annunciano un nuovo grande evento nel 2026: « Il Gran Premio Storico d’Italia ».

Dal 2 al 4 ottobre 2026 – Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello

Nell’autunno 2026, l’Italia ospiterà un nuovo evento automobilistico di rilevanza internazionale: il Gran Premio Storico d’Italia, un Gran Premio Storico concepito per celebrare la ricchezza del patrimonio sportivo automobilistico italiano e, in particolare, quello della leggendaria Scuderia Ferrari.

Organizzato sotto l’egida dell'Automobile Club d'Italia (ACI), dal 2 al 4 ottobre 2026 sull’emblematico Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello,  questo Gran Premio Storico aspira a diventare un appuntamento imperdibile nel calendario delle competizioni storiche. Il progetto, che si svolgerà con la collaborazione della Ferrari, è affidato a HVM Racing, già riconosciuta per la sua esperienza nell’organizzazione di eventi storici, che curerà il coordinamento sportivo e la promozione dell’evento in stretta collaborazione con il circuito del Mugello, impianto di proprietà della Casa di Maranello.

Un vibrante omaggio al decennio 1996–2006

Per questa prima edizione, il tema scelto sarà un decennio mitico nella storia della Ferrari: quello compreso tra il 1996 e il 2006. Un periodo dominato dal genio di Michael Schumacher, Eddie Irvine, Rubens Barrichello e Felipe Massa, protagonisti di alcune delle pagine più gloriose della Scuderia, con 87 vittorie, 5 titoli mondiali piloti e 6 titoli costruttori.

Una decina di monoposto emblematiche di quell’epoca saranno esposte ed eseguiranno dimostrazioni eccezionali, immergendo gli spettatori nell’atmosfera di quel periodo d’oro. Il rombo dei motori Ferrari risuonerà ancora una volta nella valle toscana, promettendo forti emozioni per tutti i tifosi.

Il Mugello : uno scrigno prestigioso e sostenibile

Di proprietà della Ferrari e sede abituale di attività della Casa di Maranello, il Circuito del Mugello si è affermato come scelta naturale per ospitare questo Gran Premio Storico. Tracciato tecnico e spettacolare di oltre 5 chilometri, è rinomato per le sue infrastrutture di sicurezza all’avanguardia e per l’attenzione all’ambiente.

Nel 2021, il Mugello è risultato il circuito permanente più sostenibile al mondo, un riconoscimento che sottolinea il suo impegno per lo sviluppo sostenibile, l’innovazione tecnologica e l’integrazione armoniosa nel territorio. L’impianto toscano si è confermato al primo posto dei circuiti più green ancora nel 2023 e 2024.

Il Gran Premio Storico d’Italia segnerà quindi il ritorno di un grande appuntamento di sport automobilistico storico nelle terre che hanno visto nascere alcune delle più grandi leggende della disciplina.

Dopo le ruote "grosse" delle MotoGP,  il Mugello Circuit  domenica 29 giugno vedrà protagoniste le ruote "fini"  delle biciclette degli oltre 1000 ciclisti provenienti da tutta Italia e dall'estero, che saranno al via della 7^ edizione della Granfondo Del Mugello " La Via Del Latte" organizzata dall'ASD MUGELLO TOSCANA BIKE, che allo scattare del segnale verde del semaforo, percorreranno il giro completo della pista per poi percorrere uno dei 6 percorsi proposti : 3 stradali e 3 Gravel, che dopo aver attraversato gran parte del territorio mugellano si concluderanno tutti nella splendida Piazza dei Vicari a Scarperia.

Yesterday, in the Sala d’Armi of Palazzo Vecchio, Paolo Poli, CEO and Director of the Mugello Circuit, was awarded the Fiorino d’Oro, the highest honor granted by the City of Florence. The award was presented by Mayor Sara Funaro, who praised “those who leave a lasting mark on the city and its community.”

Poli accepted the honor with heartfelt words:

“Representing the land of Florence around the world is a true privilege; this recognition is not only for me, but ideally embraces the entire Mugello Circuit team for their quality, skill, and passion in carrying out each event of the year with great professionalism.”

He fondly recalled the recent Italian MotoGP Grand Prix, held from June 20–22, which recorded a record attendance of over 160,000 fans.
Poli’s professional journey has always been closely linked to the region and the Ferrari brand, and is marked by major achievements such as bringing the Formula 1 Tuscan Grand Prix ‘Ferrari 1000’ to Mugello in 2020, and the continued success of the Italian MotoGP Grand Prix, held at the Mugello Circuit since 1991.

“These are results made possible thanks to the continuous and essential support of Ferrari Automobili, owner of the circuit, which has always believed in this venue and its connection with the city of Florence,” Poli added.

Alongside him, other notable figures were awarded the Fiorino d’Oro, including journalist Aldo Cazzullo, Fiorentina legend Kurt Hamrin (posthumously), the Opera della Divina Provvidenza Madonnina del Grappa, entrepreneur Clara Arzilla Cappellini, and peace activists Bushra Awad and Robi Damelin, committed to dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians.

The Italian Grand Prix of MotoGP at the Mugello Circuit drew an extraordinary crowd throughout the entire race weekend, peaking on Sunday with 84,000 fans as three Ducatis once again claimed the podium at the Tuscan circuit.

It was a day to remember for Marc Marquez, who achieved a double victory by winning the Sprint race and emerging triumphant in the main event — particularly in the thrilling first laps filled with overtakes and borderline contact with Pecco Bagnaia and his brother Alex, before Di Giannantonio joined the party and claimed third place.

Bagnaia finished fourth, cheered on by ecstatic fans and watched by a veritable parade of sports and entertainment celebrities. From the Hollywood red carpet came actors Keanu Reeves and Eric Bana for the chequered flag moment, while singer Cesare Cremonini smiled in front of the special VR46 livery dedicated to his tour. The pit lane featured familiar faces such as DJ Carl Cox and World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro.

Local political figures were also in attendance: Eugenio Giani, President of the Tuscany Region; Sara Funaro, Mayor of Florence and the Metropolitan City; and Federico Ignesti, Mayor of Scarperia e San Piero. They were joined by regional councillors Fiammetta Capirossi and Cristiano Benucci, and Tommaso Triberti, President of the Mugello Mountain Union of Municipalities.

It was a true spectacle — on track, in the stands, and even in the skies above the circuit, as the HH-101A helicopter of the Italian Air Force, from the 9th Wing “Francesco Baracca” in Grazzanise, flew overhead before the race start, trailing a massive Italian flag.

“A fantastic day — the satisfaction is huge, just like the emotion of seeing the passion from all these fans who arrived days in advance by tent, campervan, or any means they could, making the Mugello week so special,” smiled Paolo Poli, CEO and Director of the Mugello Circuit.

It was a truly Italian celebration, opened by the national anthem sung by Pierdavide Carone, and closed with the traditional track invasion set to the music of multi-gold DJ Federico Scavo and motorcycling legend Marco Melandri.

“How long until we’re back here next year?”

“We reached 160,000 attendees over the three-day race weekend — a 10% increase compared to last year,” reported Paolo Poli, CEO and Director of the Mugello Circuit, at the conclusion of the ninth round of the MotoGP World Championship.

“Mugello and MotoGP are in great shape. They generate visibility for Tuscany, and the figures prove it,” added Poli, expressing confidence in the future of the partnership with Dorna beyond 2026: “Ezpeleta has always been both a friend and a businessman. He knows very well the value that tradition and setting bring to the championship as a whole. These are key elements in our ongoing discussions to secure a new five-year agreement, following 35 years of collaboration.”

Standing alongside Poli — who was recently awarded the Fiorino d’Oro by the City of Florence — was Eugenio Giani, President of the Tuscany Region, who pledged full cooperation to help achieve this goal:

“We will soon open a formal discussion table, but we cannot afford to imagine a Mugello without the Italian GP. Days like these embody the pride of Tuscany — home to Italy’s finest circuit,” declared Giani after presenting awards to the top Moto3 riders.

Looking ahead, there is a shared commitment to improving traffic flow around the circuit.

“We’re working on upgrading route A107 to create a new exit. The Region is ready to contribute with sponsorships and funding to support this essential event and strengthen our relationship with Mugello and its director, Paolo Poli, whose constant efforts to promote the area bring over 200 event days to the region each year,” concluded Giani.
